Class Experience

Students will be able to identify text written in poetry form and the elements that are applicable (e.g., rhyme, repetition, voice).
Students will be able to analyze oral expressions (e.g., pause, accent, rhythm) that are used in poetry to convey meaning.
Students will be able to develop effective styles for reading poetry aloud.
Students will be able to create an oral performance of a self-chosen piece of poetry using fluency and expression to convey meaning.
Students will gain confidence in their reading ability and improve their reading fluency. 
Students will be able to use rhyme, rhythm, and repetition to write their own poems. 
Paper and pencil.
2 hours 40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
