Description
Class Experience
In this one time class, we will make together in small steps, a floral arrangement using floral foam and a container of your choice and a selections of greens, flowers and raffia or ribbon, and any accessories if they would like to add. Children have amazing artistic abilities, even at a very young age-- and this class provides young learners the opportunity to express their creativity while working with fresh botanicals. We will begin by discussing our materials, and sharing with one...
Please use what interests you! I list below suggested materials for this class --a container for your floral foam it can be one you already have, or purchased- oval or square. You can also use a big mug or small ceramic bowl too. Find you container first, then you will know what type of floral foam to use. -- Oasis Floral Foam ** it has to be floral foam NOT styrofoam ( 1/2 dome, full circle, brick...they come in many sizes, find the floral foam that fits into your container-- You might need to shave it or trim it, to make it fit into your container -- A bouquet of flowers from the store or a selection of 3-5 long stem flowers and a few other type of flowers ( baby's breath, and/or chamomile, or alstroemeria flowers) greens ( ferns, eucalpytus... other types of green leaves with stems/branches) ** You will need MORE greens than flowers ( " leather leaf fern" and " lemon leaf " is a great green to use, as well as a combo of green ) -- A tray to work over or an old cookie sheet -- Protection for your working surface -- An extra bowl to soak the oasis floral foam already filled with water -- A scissors ** parental guidance may be needed- please be ready to help -- Ribbon or Raffia or Both -- Any extra accessories to use are you choice and option
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using scissors to cut down stems- please be ready to help if needed
