Bonjour! Do you love being Fancy like Nancy? Do you love to celebrate the holidays? If so, then you of course have to learn to speak some French! Join us in this 15 class course, which will be modeled after 7 Fancy Nancy books, which I am sure your Nancy lover has read. Each class, we will learn a particular group of words and phrases in French about a certain holiday Nancy experiences herself! Students will receive manipulatives and activities to complete along with the teacher during class. We will have so much fun learning French like Nancy while getting in the holiday spirit. Allons-y--that's French for 'let's go'! Weeks of October 21 & 28-'Halloween or Bust' and 'Candy Bonanza' Students will learn Halloween colors and vocabulary Weeks of November 4 'Fancy Nancy and the Fall Foliage' Students will learn colors and vocabulary about fall. Week November 18 Students will learn more fall colors, food typically eaten during Thanksgiving, and how to say what they are thankful for. Week of November 26-NO CLASS Week of December 2-'Fancy Nancy and the Nice List Students will learn colors and winter holiday vocabulary. Week of December 9-'Splendiferous Christmas' Students will learn colors and winter holiday vocabulary. Weeks of December 16, 23 and 30- NO CLASS Weeks of January 6 and 13-'There's No Day Like a Snow Day' Students will learn winter weather vocabulary and what you can do on a snow day. Weeks of January 20 and 27-'Fancy Nancy and the Quest for the Unicorn' Students will learn colors, parts of a unicorn, and treasure hunt words. Weeks of February 3 and 10-'Heart to Heart' Students will learn colors and Valentine's Day vocabulary words. They will also make a Valentine's Day card. Weeks of February 17 and 24-'Fanciest Doll in the Universe' Week of March 3-'Bubbles, Bubbles, and More Bubbles'

I have a BA in French, an MA in Sociolinguitics, and I have lived in the south of France where I taught ESL. I am an engaging teacher who focuses first on making the student feel comfortable learning a new language in a natural way. I believe learning a language should be fun and I also like to use manipulatives to keep students moving during class.
