French Quick Sketch: Draw Some of Your Favorite Things in French (1 Day / Week)
What's included
1 live meeting
25 mins in-class hours per weekHomework
1 hour per week. The only homework will be their drawings if not completed by the end of the class. This will only be required if the child "wants" to draw outside of class time as I do not want a situation where the child is dreading attending the class if their drawings are not complete.Assessment
All children will be asked to repeat the words of the day and at the end of class to see if they can recall the words on their own.Class Experience
Each week we will learn new French nouns. We will always discuss the appropriate article for masculine and feminine nouns. For example "le chat" (m) as opposed to "la chatte" (f). Students will be encouraged to pronounce the words, and also to use the words when talking about the picture they will draw in class. All children will be given tips on how to draw a picture of the assigned words, if they wish, and all students are encouraged to share their picutres for constructive and positive feedback. If your child does not like to draw, please do not enroll them, as I can guarantee they will be bored. On the other hand, if they like to draw they will have fun as it is a very constructive and positive atmosphere! Learning Goals

External Resources
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Teacher expertise and credentials
1 teacher has a teaching certificate
Non-US Teaching Certificate in English/Language Arts
Having grown up in a bilingual home, I know that repetition and using words and phrases in different contexts is the key to learning any new language. As an ESL teacher I also know that children love to learn when they are in a fun atmosphere and the more exposure to the language...the better!
