Welcome to an exciting French language program for young learners, ages 3-6. In this 4 week course, students learn through puppetry, music, dance, and fun, engaging activities. Join puppet friends as they introduces vocabulary words for transportation. In this "early immersion" program, your children will gain French vocabulary and comprehension skills without even realizing they are learning! No prior experience in French is needed. **PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH 4 WEEK SESSION WILL HAVE NEW THEMES** Learners may repeat the class as many times as they would like as themes and vocab will change every 4 weeks. Week of September 8- Introductions, Hello/Bonjour Song, common forms of transportation (plane, truck, car, train, boat, etc). We will learn the French words for different forms of transportation and sing songs to help us remember the words. Class will include time for sharing and questions, and we will finish with a Goodbye/Au Revoir Song. Week of September 15 - Hello Song, review forms of transportation & add new ones - helicopter, bicycle. Sharing time and goodbye song will finish off the class. Week of September 22 - Hello Song, review transportation, question & answer time - the puppets will share their favourite mode of transportation and ask learners to share theirs. We will learn how to say "I like *form of transportation*" in French, ie. "J'aime l'avion! I like the airplane!" Again, we will have sharing time and end with our goodbye song. Week of September 29 - Hello Song, final new transportation words - van, motorcycle. We will review how to express ourselves in French to say which forms of transportation we like and don't like, and our puppet friends will be along for the ride. Class will end with sharing time and goodbye song. Each class will include songs, puppet play & more. I ask that families gather up drums, shakers, and scarves as we will use these during class for different songs and activities. Stuffed animals & dolls are also welcome to attend class with your learner! I welcome learner participation in class - as an early childhood teacher, I firmly believe in the philosophy of following the child. In my classes, children are welcome to share their ideas and suggestions for how to do a song or activity. If you have any questions about the program or curriculum, please message me before enrolling and I will answer as quickly as I can.
Learning Goals
Students will learn French words for transportation, as well as greetings and action words. Simple phrases will be introduced. Each class will feature the same hello and goodbye songs so learners will get familiar with them and be able to sing along.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I could tell you about my qualifications, but that alone won't tell you who I am. I have a MMus. in Violin Performance, B.Mus. in Violin Performance, and BA in French. I have been teaching for over 30 years and thankfully still love it!
I currently offer violin, viola, piano, French, and Hebrew classes. My educational philosophy is guided by the main principle of my 25 years as a licensed Kindermusik educator: "Follow the child" - if learners are engaged and having fun, not only will they retain the information but they will want to learn and progress more!
