Join a Live French Macaron Baking Class with Professional Pastry Instructors! In this 2-hour, live class, young bakers will learn to create authentic French macarons using the classic French Meringue technique, complete with a delicious vanilla buttercream filling. Ideal for aspiring pastry chefs, this class builds confidence and lifelong culinary skills. Class Details: Class Size: Limited to 2 students for personalized instruction. For group sessions of up to 6 or more, please email us to inquire about availability. Age Recommendation: Flexible; adult sous chefs are welcome to assist younger learners off-camera. Pre-Work: Please review the equipment and inventory list to ensure you have the necessary tools and ingredients. Arrive with your mise-en-place ready for a smooth start. What to Expect: Your instructor will use video and image shares to ensure students can clearly see each step. Chefs will have pre-prepared batter to minimize background noise, allowing for clear instruction during the piping process. Learners will use metric scales and measurements to replicate professional techniques. The full class description includes equipment and ingredient requirements—please read it thoroughly. Class Includes: Live, interactive instruction (120 minutes) with additional access to class materials for 30 days Chef support for questions or feedback during class week Option to view a recorded class demonstration for extra practice With over 16 years of experience and a passion for teaching, our chefs make mastering pastry arts accessible and fun. At Born Baker, we believe our learners have budding kitchen skills. However, if your baker is new to certain equipment or unfamiliar with specific tools, your assistance is greatly appreciated. You know your learner best, and we welcome your guidance as we bake together.
Please allow time for gathering and measuring ingredients (mise-en-place) before class begins, and feel free to help your learner with this prep work—it’s a key part of a successful baking experience!
Supply List
Our step-by-step recipe and guidance will walk learners through the entire macaron-making process. Required Equipment: Stand mixer with whisk attachment Kitchen scale (with gram measurements) Bowls of various sizes Sifter or fine-mesh sieve Piping bag with #11 or #12 tip Cookie sheets Parchment paper or Silpat mat(s) Macaron template (provided) Ingredients: Almond flour Granulated sugar or fine caster sugar Confectioners’/icing sugar Egg whites Gel color (optional, for colored macarons) Butter Icing sugar Vanilla Salt Fillings: Can include milk, chocolate, fruit, etc. A full ingredient list with recipes will be provided in the classroom. Optional but Helpful: Oven thermometer: Oven temperatures vary, which can affect the baking process. Using an oven thermometer helps ensure that shells bake properly and avoid issues like cracking or undercooking.
