Suitable for complete beginners of the French language, this world language summer camp is similar to our crowd favorite Introduction to French Level 1 course. It takes place 4 times a week over 2 weeks. Who our students are? We have a range of students, some are already multilingual, some from French speaking families and others who are just curious about learning French for the first time as their second language. This makes for an exciting mix and dynamic learning! Who our teachers are? We are passionate about the French language and culture. We aim to inspire and motivate our learners so they can enjoy being top of the class! Not just in French but in all areas! We’re really ambitious for our students. What TOPICS are covered each week? Day 1: introducing yourself Day 2: numbers 1-10 Day 3: classroom nouns Day 4: building a sentence using avoir Day 5: learning more colors and animals Day 6: the weather Day 7: emotions Day 8: visiting France How is the class structured? Learners are encouraged to say and repeat the new French words to practice the pronunciation Each student has the opportunity to speak French, share ideas and ask questions As the teacher, I assess understanding and correct pronunciation Lessons include interactive and fun activities and games Each lesson will include interactive tasks & games and lots of opportunities for each student to practice speaking in French. A vocabulary sheet will be provided beforehand for the students. This class aims to provide beginners with a solid foundation in French, while being a fun learning experience. Students will be encouraged to talk out loud in French often, saying key sentences and answering questions.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in French Teaching from the University of Utah. She also lived in three French-speaking countries for a year and a half (France, Switzerland, Luxembourg). As a teacher, Camilla is patient, encouraging, and upbeat. She makes class enjoyable and stress-free while still creating a challenging learning environment. She enjoys using music, movement, and visuals to help learners focus and engage. Camilla loves the French language and loves sharing her passion with others.
