Class Experience

This 2 student, 1 teacher course will encourage students to read, write, and complete assignments with confidence. Communication is fun in a spoken language. This course is designed for 2 classmates from the same French class to meet with me for an ongoing course to tackle homework assignments, pronunciation, reading, writing, speaking skills in French and more!
Week of April 11 : vocabulaire des rencontres
Week of April 18 : vocabulaire du temps
Week of May 2 : vocabulaire de l'heure
Week May 16 : vocabulaire des directions
My teaching style is engaging and participatory. I strive to create a learning environment that has a serious and comfortable sense of purpose. Students should have a particular aspect of the French language they wish to explore further with me. Perhaps the learner wishes to write a short paragraph or a creative writing assignment and wants to vary their word choices in their writing and finesse their sentence structure. We could work on all aspects of the writing process from brainstorming a topic, to writing an outline, to writing the first paragraph, to polishing the final draft. If a student wishes to work on a homework assignment, we will read the assignment description, break it down into manageable steps, and then the learner will be given ample time to work on it independently while asking for clarification at any point along the way. My background as both a French teacher and as the Academic Director of an independent school, have allowed me to work with thousands of students in areas such as time management, study skills and confidence building. Students should come to class with an assignment or a topic that needs practice- vocabulary, speaking, grammar, reading, writing etc. I can help with homework or to review any topic that the student wishes to practice.

Learning Goals

Students will improve their understanding of various French words and phrases, grammatical concepts, and will improve in receptive and expressive communication.
