In this 10 class, summer-themed course, students will be able to keep practicing their French speaking skills in a fun way during the summer. This is a full immersion class.

This summer, let's have a great time but keep practicing our French! Students will take 10 classes where they discuss summer themed topics while reviewing and learning new vocabulary and grammar topics. This is a full immersion class which means all class communications, written and oral, will be in the target language-French.

Week 1Lesson 1My Summer PlansStudents will focus on speak in the future tense.Week 2Lesson 2Outdoor Summer ActivitiesStudents will discuss what outdoor activities they like to do and do not like to do during the summer.Week 3Lesson 3Inside Summer Activities/WeatherStudents will discuss what they like to do inside during the summer and why they would stay inside due to summer weather.Week 4Lesson 4TravelingStudents will review and discuss travel plans in the summer and how they will be traveling.Week 5Lesson 5Summer FoodsStudents will review food words and phrases and what grows where they live during the summer. In addition, they will discuss what the like to eat and do not like to eat.Week 6Lesson 6Adjectives of SummerStudents will review and learn new adjectives and practice adjective placement as they describe different aspects of summer.Week 7Lesson 7Adverbs of SummerStudents will review and learn new adverbs and practice adverb placement as they describe different aspects of summer.Week 8Lesson 8Verbs of SummerStudents will review and learn new verbs and practice verb conjugations as they describe different aspects of summer.Week 9Lesson 9Superlative and ComparisonsStudents will use comparative and superlative sentences to talk about the summertime where they live.Week 10Lesson 10Goals for Next School YearStudents will discuss their goals for the upcoming school year, what courses they are taking, and what they are most looking forward to this school year.

Bonjour! I am Madame Heather and I am a licensed French teacher for ages preK-12. I have 15 years teaching experience in the classroom and over 5 years teaching experience online. I have a BA in French, an MA in Sociolinguitics, and I have lived in the south of France where I taught ESL. I am an engaging teacher who focuses first on making the student feel comfortable learning a new language in a natural way. I believe learning a language should be fun and I also like to use manipulatives to keep students moving during class. I look forward to helping your student expand their interest in francophone culture and language.
This is a full immersion class, students should be ready and willing to to speak only in the target language.
