Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Bonjour, et bienvenue! Come practice your French conversation skills with us in this ongoing club.

***** PLEASE NOTE: This club is not for absolute beginners with zero experience. Students should ideally have 3-6 months of experience be able to introduce themselves, talk about colors, size, count, and understand basic commands. ****

The courses will be 95% immersion-based (barring any necessary tech support or classroom commands). Through the use of learning materials such as slides, GIFs, gestures, and props, most students should be able to understand the sentence frames and vocabulary. It is suitable for introductory-level French students, but would best serve students who have had at least some exposure to the basics of French (3-6 months of lessons).

At the beginning of each class, students will have the chance to practice introducing themselves and practice basic conversation questions (feelings, weather, age, etc). Each lesson will be structured with a particular conversation theme, which may include, but is not limited to: animals, preferences, clothing, hobbies and activities, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, weather, toys, professions, places, etc. Students will practice both asking and answering questions. I will model full sentences for them to gain confidence expressing themselves and provide error correction in a positive way as needed.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Learning Goals
Students will gain confidence in speaking French, with specific themes as a guide for our conversation. I will model full sentences for them and provide positive error correction if needed, in order for them to gain confidence expressing themselves.

I am bilingual and believe in an immersion-based classroom approach, using as little English as possible. I also give private one-on-one introductory French lessons online.
