There will be quizzes and assignments throughout the course which will help assess learner performance.Class Experience
In this 4-week course, we will cover different elements of language such as grammar and vocabulary to develop a basic understanding of the French language. No knowledge of French is required for this class. I will present each concept through videos and slide presentations weekly. There will be no live meetings in this class, but each student can schedule a video meeting with me as needed. Lesson slides will be available as PDF documents for students in the classroom page. Learners will also have interactive activities after having reviewed the video and the slides. We will use Nearpod to go through these interactive features (open-ended questions, quizzes, and other activities), as well as online worksheets, and/or quizzes. None of those necessitate creating an account. I will also ask questions about the material in the classroom page, to which every student is expected to respond on the same page. Each learner will also be tasked with creating a video introducing themselves, using the provided vocabulary. The rest of the class will comment or ask questions (all comments will be moderated/approved by me). Respect and courteousness are expected at all times. The schedule will be as follow: Week 1 - Basic greetings & Introductions, numbers up to 20 Week 2 - Nouns (vocabulary: body, clothes, house) Week 3 - Adjectives (colors, qualitative adjectives) Week 4 - Verb aimer - expressing likes & dislikes + naming activities The weekly assignments and participation are both crucial to advancement in the class, in order to keep up with the material. Learners are encouraged to reach out to me for any questions or clarifications.
