Bonjour! Je M'appelle Madame Cristina!! Comment t'appelles-tu? Quel est votre nom? Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the French language in a flexible interactive setting. We will cover items that would be covered in a French II level course of study in High School. My teaching style is to combine visual aids and hands on activities to attend to the different learning abilities of all those in the class. Not only will students learn basic vocabulary but there will also be an emphasis on French culture. Learners will complete and submit assignments, play games in the OutSchool classroom (via a Kahoot) or Jeopardy and practice their French with fellow classmates. Each week there will be a question and answer section at the end of class. Items will build from week to week and we will begin each class answering questions in French from the week before. By the end of the course, learners will be speaking, reading and writing in French. Week 1: Review of French II class and determine what level students are in the language. Weeks 2 & 3: Les verbes - Past, Present, & Future Tense Week 4: Imperatives Lesson and Shopping Vocabulary to include role playing in French Week 5: Question Words and Phrases Week 6: French Media - Translate articles and write our own Week 7: Adjectifs, Vocabulaire et gramaire - Adjectives & Grammar Week 8: Write a short assignment of items learned. -Share writing assignments and provide feedback for improvement. Week 9: Review and Kahoot or Jeopardy Game Learners require previous language experience. Students will have the opportunity to work on worksheets during class and outside of class time for maximum retention. A letter grade can be provided, by request, at the end of the semester based on participation and completion of work.
