Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will be able to construct basic thoughts and sentences both in writing and orally, as well as read, to carry simple conversations. Students will also be able to effectively count to 100 in French, have a basic understanding of the culture and geography, and have learned 150 vocabulary terms.
5+ years formal education in the French language
There will not be any homework as we will be meeting frequently over the 3 weeks, but memorization is expected and so students will have to study. There will be optional study tools and worksheets available if students choose to use them, but they will not be graded.
French-English Dictionary HIGHLY recommended (No, Google Translate does not suffice as an alternative)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Each week will have a 20 question multiple choice quiz with one essay question (1 paragraph in length) to assess student learning that week, along with a 60 question exam with 5 short answer (1 word - 1 sentence in length), one essay (1 paragraph in length) and one oral component on the last class day.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
