Bonjour! Je M'appelle Madame Cristina!! Comment t'appelles-tu? Quel est votre nom? Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the French language in a flexible interactive setting. We will cover all of the items that would be covered in a French I level course of study in Middle or High School. My teaching style is to combine visual aids and hands on activities to attend to the different learning abilities of all those in the class. Not only will students learn basic vocabulary but there will also be an emphasis on French culture. Although this is a "Flex" class, students are still required to participate. Learners will complete and submit assignments (video and written), play games in the OutSchool classroom (via a Kahoot or Nearpod link) and practice their French with fellow classmates. I will reply to the student by video with feedback on grammar and pronunciation for every video assignment submitted by the learner. Each week there will be a question and answer section at the end of class. Students are encouraged to create videos answering the question or simply typing the full sentence into the comments section. When each class ends, students will take a picture of their work and share with the class. Items will build from week to week and we will begin each class answering questions in French from the week before. By the end of the course, learners will be speaking, reading and writing basic French and able to share details about themselves in French. Week 1: Greetings -Hello! What’s your name? -Good Bye- How are you? The Alphabet. Students will pronounce and learn the French alphabet. Week 2: Numbers & Colors - How old are you? Lesson and Activity Week 3: My Family Lesson - Vocabulary and Activities Week 4: Animals & Pets - All About Me Activity Week 5: Irregular Verbs & Grammar Rules - Lesson and Activity Week 6: Months and Days of the Year - Lesson and Activity Week 7: Seasons & Weather - Vocabulary and Activities Week 8: My body and clothes - Vocabulary and Activities Please note that this is a flexible class, meaning there are NO live meetings. Recorded classes will be posted on Monday mornings, Eastern Time, as well as in response to any video submissions. In total there are 16 lessons provided (8 weeks x 2 lessons per week)
