I have taught basic French for several years both in the public school system and online. I have taken 4 Basic French courses at the university level.
No homework is required, however, when learning a new language, students should practice what they have learned. It is recommended they practice reviewing material already learned for at least 10-15 minutes per day.
No formal assessment.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
