Class Experience

US Grade 5
Freehand Geometry is commonly taught as a part of the 5th grade Waldorf school curriculum. It provides a holistic look at geometry that includes history, art, and geometric concepts. Incorporating all of these different elements allows for a more complete sense of geometric concepts that allow the concepts to come to life and to be seen from a different perspective.

As the name would imply it includes studying the geometric forms, looking at how they were used in antiquity, and using artistic methods to render those forms in a freehand style. Some basic math skills are necessary including knowledge of the four operations and fractions.
