Class Experience

You probably already know that the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees each of us the right of free speech. This introductory class will dive into the true meaning of what many consider our most important right. Free speech is not unlimited!
We'll answer some important questions: Do students have free speech rights? When do they apply? Who can limit those rights? What do the courts look at in deciding if the First Amendment has been violated?
In this introductory class, students will be taught a method they can use to analyze the right of free speech in various situations. This method helps students succeed because they will know how to approach free speech issues and back up their reasoning (rather than simply memorizing facts).
This interactive class is taught by an experienced attorney who has a knack for making legal principles understandable "in real life." There will be time for questions. No prior experience is needed.
