This class has recipes picked specifically for gluten-free and dairy-free cooking but anyone is free to join the class because all the recipes are delicious. Students will be watching videos through the Outschool classroom page and preparing meals each week. Students can also participate in sharing their meals with others and answer the weekly discussion questions about meal preparation. There will be no live classes, but students may message the teacher as often as needed to ask...
Students will prepare a meal weekly according to the gluten-free and dairy-free recipes. During this class students will become more familiar with alternative ingredients and meal preparation techniques.
I have over 4 years of experience with exclusive gluten-free and dairy-free cooking.
Students should prepare the weekly recipes and participate in weekly discussion threads in the classroom as they feel comfortable.
Ingredient lists will be provided at the beginning of class for the whole 4 weeks. I will be using a cast-iron pan to do most of the cooking, but any 10 inch skillet and 12 inch skillet should work. Other kitchen materials include- cutting board and knives, stove, oven, microwave, blender (optional), measuring cups and spoon, shredder/grater. Videos will be posted with YouTube links to unlisted videos for each recipe or posted directly to the classroom page.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
No medical advice will be given as to a gluten-free or dairy-free lifestyle, only ways to prevent cross-contamination and the outlined class as listed above. Recipes will include eggs and nuts, but are gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free. Please message Miss Allison if you have specific allergy questions. Other kitchen materials include- cutting board and knives, stove, oven, microwave, blender (optional), measuring cups and spoon, shredder/grater. Students that are not familiar with these utensils will need parental support.
