30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
In this ongoing live online club, students will learn facts about freaky and unusual animals from around the world. This class meets once a week for 30 minutes (4 section times and days available). Each class we will learn what the two animals habitat is, what region of the world they live in, what there diet is, lifespan and what makes them freaky and unusual. Students will interact in a presentation about the animals and have the opportunity to discuss the animals. There will be an optional one page handout for students to record what the animals habitat is, what they eat and freaky facts about them. I will ask the students questions about the animals while we tap into our creativity by drawing the freaky and unusual animals for the last part of the class. There is no required experience or knowledge needed. See you in class! **** Please feel free to request another time if needed. This class is inclusive as are all of my classes. This class will commence with only one student. Attendance is students responsibility, no refund for no show. *******

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello my name is Ms. Maya. The classes I teach are social skills, kinder readiness and support, classes about horses, animals, plants, and mushrooms. I am sure I will be adding to this list as time goes on.
I have worked with special needs children for six years, three of those years as an elementary special education teacher. I have a bachelor's degree in political science with an emphasis in international relations. I am a certified teacher in the state of Idaho. Prior to working in education I worked for a non-profit doing native plant restoration in Oregon.
I have had horses in my life from the beginning. I developed this love of horses with my first shetland pony. I went on the show at western pleasure events. This changed to english, which led to pony club for several years. I minored in equine science in college and apprenticed with a natural horsemanship guru. I enjoy working at liberty with my horses and trail riding now. I have a love for mustangs, especially the wild ones. I am fortunate to live where their wild horses and enjoy observing them. I also have two Bureau of Land Management (BLM) mustangs and one spanish/kiger mustang.
I enjoy teaching children of all ages. I feel that it is important to recognize that children learn at different rates and through different styles. Learning should be a fun and exciting experience for children. I strive to create this atmosphere in my classroom. I love fostering creativity and critical thinking in children.
I have a very energetic two year old son who keeps me young. I also have three horses (mustangs), three dogs, three ducks, three cats and two chickens; I love animals!
