To get a reply from the Kingdom of Aragon, parents should send their child's letter to Fraydo@FraydoTheDragon.com by following these steps: =>Scan or take a picture of the letter/drawing. =>Upload the file (PNG, JPEG, or PDF) and email it to Fraydo@FraydoTheDragon.com. =>The child's Pen Pal will respond via email to the parent's account, including an attached letter from Fraydo@FraydoTheDragon.com, which can be printed as a PDF. =>Parents will receive these instructions upon enrollment.Grading
When a student uploads their pen pal letter to one of the characters within The Kingdom of Aragon, they will receive a personalized letter back from that character. Pretty cool, eh?Class Experience

Beginner Level
Fraydo The Dragon Club immerses your child into the imaginary world within the Kingdom of Aragon where your child will engage in critical thinking skills on E.Q. topics including friendship, empathy, problem-solving, and self-awareness. This class is based on the award-winning picture book Fraydo The Dragon: A Very Big Problem, written by Courtney Spain Aragon. Your child will first be introduced to the author and then to lovable Fraydo and his Kingdom friends through a dynamic, puppet-style video presentation that tells the story of Fraydo the Dragon. There will be close-up views of the richly illustrated picture book, along with character voice-overs and animated appearances. After the presentation, Miss Courtney will lead a fun discussion about Fraydo’s Big Problem. Your child will then choose a Kingdom Pen Pal (Fraydo, Pee Wee, The Queen, The Knight, or The Baker’s Boy) to write to. They’ll use a simple writing template to create their letter or drawing, inspired by their curious questions from the discussion. Younger students may prefer to draw instead of write, which is perfectly fine! They’ll still learn how to construct a letter, and we love receiving their drawings. While the students are creating their letters, Mrs. Spain Aragon will share Pen Pal letters examples from around the world. At the end of class, Mrs. Spain Aragon will go over how to get a reply letter back from their Pen Pal!! PLEASE NOTE: While the book that this club is based upon is not required for this class, if purchased through the Author's website or through Amazon, the author thanks you for your support. On Amazon, please note that only NEW copies of the book (plus Fraydo bookmark) are sent from/listed by Little Fire Press (Publisher). All other listings by other sellers are USED copies and the quality cannot be verified. A Kindle version also exists. A NOTE ABOUT AGES: This is a great class for ages 4 - 6 year old children. A 7 year old student will not be too old for this class if he/she loves a good story and still loves to imagine. And, if they prefer, your older student can write their Pen Pal letter to the author instead of to one of the characters in the book.
Learning Goals
From lively discussions to fun activities to story vignettes, Fraydo The Dragon Club is an engaging way to help children develop their problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills in a safe environment.
Creative Expression and Communication: Students will develop their creative writing and artistic skills by constructing a letter or drawing for their chosen Pen Pal. They will learn to express their thoughts and questions inspired by the story.

Learning Needs
For dyslexic and dysgraphic learners, writing can feel overwhelming, often stifling their brilliant ideas. In this class, we’ll focus on letter formation through a pen pal workshop, allowing learners to express their thoughts with drawings.
Pre-Requisites
Just bring that "imagination hat" and be prepared to have fun. Oh. You will need paper, pencil and crayons. I will send you a discussion guide and a pen pal template.
Supply List
1) Please print out the provided Pen Pal Letter Template prior to class. If your learner does not have a printer, using any blank paper from home will work. 2) Please bring a pen, crayons, or markers to class in order to create your letter. 3) Please review the Discussion Guide with your learner in order to help prepare your learner with thoughtful, critical thinking questions to ponder as the book is being read and for their Pen Pal correspondence. The Discussion Guide can also be used well after the class as well to ponder the topics that the book covered. 4) The companion hardcover picture book and Kindle edition can be found on Amazon as well as FraydoTheDragon.com. Please note, the beautifully illustrated book is not required for this class but if purchased through Amazon (Kindle or Hardbound/New editions), the author gets a very small royalty fee and appreciates your support! PLEASE NOTE: On Amazon, only NEW copies of the book (plus Fraydo bookmark) are sent from/listed by Little Fire Press (Publisher). All other listings by other sellers are "USED" (not new) editions and quality cannot be verified. A Kindle version also exists.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Everyone!
I am a professional writer and successful children's book author. I hold an Executive MBA Certificate from the Haas School of Business, Berkeley and a BA from Syracuse University, the Newhouse School of Communications (Writing Major with English Minor). Throughout my professional career, I have enjoyed learning from those in the creative and design industries. And through those work experiences, I have become a professional storyteller of brands, products and (best of all) people and their experiences.
My greatest achievement, however, has been to successfully publish my award winning children’s book, Fraydo the Dragon: A Very Big Problem. Proud recipient of the Mom's Choice Award Gold Medal, Fraydo the Dragon: A Very Big Problem has brought serious giggles and chuckles to children of all ages -- from silly to super silly. This humorous, beautifully illustrated picture book has become a classroom favorite that drives deep conversations about friendship, empathy, problem solving and self-awareness. After all, kids have lots of fun trying to figure out why big, lovable and goofy Fraydo the Dragon thinks he is a DOG!
And now your children can also be part of the fun through
Fraydo the Dragon Club -- which is now available on Outschool! The imaginary world within the Kingdom of Aragon sets the stage for our curious children and provides an opportunity to interact with Fraydo and his pals through two main activities: the popular Pen Pal Program and The Certificate of Awesomeness STEM Challenge. Each week brings lively discussions between the author (me), Fraydo, The Queen, The Knight and Pee Wee based on questions received through the Pen Pal Program. Fraydo’s pals also have plenty of advice for how Fraydo should complete his own STEM Challenge in order to be awarded the Kingdom’s coveted Certificate of Awesomeness. But the verdict is still out if Fraydo will or should listen!!!
From lively discussions and fun activities to story vignettes, Fraydo The Dragon Club is an engaging way to help children develop their own problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills all within a safe environment.
I hope you will join in on the fun!
All the best,
Courtney Spain Aragon
