The Fortnite island is under attack! We have 45 minutes in which to rescue it. Can you solve all the clues and get the codes required to rescue the island? In this Fortnite themed escape room students will be challenged to solve a number of times tables tasks in order to crack the code and de-activate a bomb before it explodes and destroys Fortnite forever! This escape room gives students the opportunity to re-learn, practice, and consolidate existing times-tables knowledge alongside becoming familiar with times-tables that they may not have as much knowledge of. During this escape room we will focus upon 6,8,9,11, and 12 times tables. Students will solve mixed multiplication sums alongside tasks aimed at practising each individual times table in isolation. Students will be required to undertake 6 different tasks during the escape room. Please note: This is not in the game and although it is 'Fortnite' themed it is primarily an exercise in revising and practising the Times Tables.

Supply List
Please have a copy of the task sheet below for completion during the lesson. Ideally this will be printed off for students but if no printer is available students could complete the task on their screen whilst in the zoom call. Please DO NOT allow students to complete the tasks before the lesson. Students will also require a pen or pencil.

Hi there,
I am Laura, a teacher living and working in England. I have been a teaching for 18 years and love working with children.
I initially did a BA honours in English literature and then took another year at university to train as an English teacher. I then worked in a number of different high schools and one middle school teaching English, Drama, and Media studies to students aged between 9 and 18. I also tutor students privately in my own home. I have a 12 year old son of my own and we especially enjoy working together on writing projects.
I am very excited to work with young people online and offer exciting and engaging lessons in my specialist subjects.
I am particularly enthused by teaching creative writing in all its forms and am a writer myself.
