(*This class may be taken multiple times for repeated and reinforced instruction. For repeat learners in this class, I offer a 20% discount up to 5 times and a 30% discount for 6 times and beyond). In this one time class, students will learn a quick and easy way to reduce or simplify fractions! During our class time, we will learn about the following: 1) Fraction vocabulary and identify parts of a fraction; 2) Dive into equivalent fractions through images; 5) Reviewing factors and factor pairs; 6) Using factors and factor pairs of numerators and denominators to identify the Greatest Common Factor; 7) Applying the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) to reduce or simplify a fraction. We will use various apps, as needed, such as the Zoom whiteboard, Jamboard, whiteboard.fi, and Flipgrid, all of which will have a link supplied during the Zoom, to promote an engaging and interactive learning experience.
Learning Goals
Students will understand how to properly reduce or simplify fractions using the Greatest Common Factor.

Supply List
Writing tools, multiplication/ times table chart (if not fluent with multiplication facts), note-taking paper, erasers, and highlighters (some students learn best when highlighting notes).
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
