Dear Parents: Cooking is fun for most learners. However, math can be challenging for some. The purpose of this class is to introduce learners to math used in the kitchen. There will be worksheets and pretests as well as recipes and cooking. I will go over the answers in class, use demonstrations, and slides to convey the class information. Students are expected to communicate in the classroom tab. They are to ask questions, post, and interact with each other. In addition, recipes contain known allergens. Please read the ingredients thoroughly and check with your health care provider. Mixers, ovens, stovetops, and knives will used in this class. I strongly recommend adult supervision when using these appliances and tools. A healthy respect for safety and sanitation is important for students and their families. Individual guardians and parents are responsible for each student's health and safety. CAGO( clean as you go), safety measures, and sanitation practices are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED. Please support Teacher Elaine in her efforts to promote safety, cleanliness, and sanitation in classroom.
