US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner Level
Students will go over fundamentals of fractions, common denominators, math facts, long division, and word problems with these fundamentals to strengthen their confidence in multiple facets of these high-frequency skills. It will help if students know their multiplication facts, but it is not imperative. Students can join in at any week and I encourage them to ask questions. I do a lot of "I do, we do, you do" structure in working step by step through problems. I teach simple steps, and encourage attempts and efforts and never make a student feel less for taking longer to understand a concept. I like visuals, and use a lot of white board and real life examples to make it more tangible in their minds. I keep my classes to 30 minutes as I feel it's a good amount of time to fully cover one topic but not overload the scholar's brain with too much sitting in one session. If a student has examples from classwork on the topics being covered, they can absolutely ask questions on that during the session to use as a framework for their work that day. I look forward to working with your scholar and empowering them in math! Students can sign up for one week or multiple, depending on how much work and practice they need in these concepts. The same concepts will be taught, reviewed and practiced in every class.
