1 hour per week. Students are encouraged to complete the Kahoot fraction review activity outside of class using the Kahoot link I provide to enrolled students after each lesson. These links give enrolled students access to after-class fraction practices that are related to the material learned in class that week.Assessment
There is no formal assessment in this class. Students' knowledge of their fraction skills can be gauged through playing the Kahoot game in class and after class. (If parents/students have a free Kahoot account a detailed report will be sent to parents/students after each class. This includes (correct answers/ incorrect answers/ unanswered questions). The report will also grade your child's work.Class Experience

Beginner Level
In this class, students will learn the basic concept of fractions using their love of Minecraft. STUDENTS WILL NOT PLAY THE GAME MINECRAFT IN THIS CLASS. This is a Minecraft themed lesson. We will be reviewing fractions as (a whole). This class is designed to be either a remedial lesson or an introduction lesson to fractions as a whole. Students' prior knowledge of fractions can be minimal to none. Students will need to know addition. This class begins with students watching/listening to a short power point slide to introduce the concepts taught in the lesson. Students will then participate in activities as a class to demonstrate fractions as a whole. We will be writing fractions and drawing pictures! The class will finish off with an independent activity using Kahoot. This activity serves as a review of all the concepts taught in the lesson. It is recommended that students use a second device (cell phone, iPad, tablet) for Kahoot. Further instructions on Kahoot will be sent to enrolled students. *(If you do not see a time posted for this class that works for you, please feel free to contact me and request a time. You can write a message listing the specific time. I will try my best to grant your request.)

Parental Guidance
Students in this class will be using the website Kahoot. Kahoot will be used for students to be able to submit their answers to math questions in the lesson independently. Kahoot can be accessed using the link (https://kahoot.it/). No download is needed to use Kahoot in class and it is free. Kahoot is an approved third-party website/app by Outschool.
Pre-Requisites
1. Students should be able to do addition independently.

In this class students will need to bring the following materials:
1. Something to write on (paper, marker board, chalk board, OR digital screen)
2. Writing tool (pencil, markers, crayons, OR colored pencils)
3. Second device to play Kahoot game on (tablet, iPad, phone)
