In this class students will learn learn basics about fractions, decimals, and percentages, including comparing fractions, mixed numbers, improper fractions, and how to change mixed numbers to improper fractions. and decimals. The lesson will begin with a review of the definition of a fractions, and the parts of a fractions. Next, using slides I will go over comparing fractions, equivalent fractions, mixed numbers and improper fractions. I will model how to change an improper fraction to a mixed number using the I do, we do, you do strategy. The students will be given many opportunities to show understanding of this skill by solving problems and completing word problems to show the real world application of the concepts. We will use the "I do, we do, you do" strategy for each lesson, and students will be given many opportunities to show understanding of this skill by solving problems and word problems. Notes and worksheets will be provided at the end of each class.
