Beginner - Advanced Level
In this class, learners will build a solid foundation in working with fractions and solving word problems. The course covers everything from simplifying fractions to applying advanced concepts in real-life scenarios. By the end of the course, students will be confident in their ability to solve fraction-related problems in a variety of contexts. What will be taught? We will explore key topics including simplifying fractions, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. The course also includes converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions, as well as tackling word problems involving fractions. What topics will you cover? Simplifying Fractions Converting Between Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions Adding and Subtracting Fractions Multiplying and Dividing Fractions Word Problems with Fractions Fraction Operations in Real-World Contexts How is your class structured? The class is structured in a progressive format, starting with foundational concepts and advancing to more complex fraction problems. Each week is dedicated to specific topics, with Week 7 and 8 being dedicated to review. We focus on building understanding and applying the concepts in practical scenarios. How will you teach? I will teach through a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, and interactive problem-solving. Expect a variety of teaching tools, including examples, step-by-step explanations, and practice problems. I'll provide clear instructions for each concept and encourage active participation throughout the lessons. What's your teaching style? My teaching style is hands-on and interactive. I believe in making math approachable and fun, so I incorporate visual aids like slides, diagrams, and videos to reinforce learning. I emphasize a patient, step-by-step approach, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to grasp the material before moving on. How much will learners get to interact with you? Learners will have ample opportunities to interact with me during each class. We’ll have a mix of live discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and individual practice. I will encourage active participation through asking questions, solving problems together, and using games and quizzes to reinforce key concepts. Additionally, I'll provide feedback on individual progress and offer support for any areas where students need extra help.
