Attention! Calling all trainee mathematicians. Fall in for 3 days of fun maths where we grow and strengthen our fraction skills. This class is taught in English.
Students will learn what a fraction is and be able to draw pictorial representation of fractions They will learn how to simplify fractions (equivalent fractions) using multiplication facts and division. They will learn how to add fractions. For students who want extra challenge I will introduce the connection to future math concepts.
As a qualified Middle and High School Math Teacher I am passionate about making Math fun and engaging. I believe that we all learn best when we are having fun and my courses are highly interactive and personalised. I am here to support you in your quest to keep your child learning. Let me help you to support your child to build their confidence and competence with their Math.
30 minutes recall practice before each lesson is recommended to embed learning. Videos, exercises and worksheets with answers will be provided for students and parents to support their child.
Equip yourself for success: Printed resources for activities during classes. Pencil and paper for taking notes. Coloured crayons, pencils, pens or highlighters. A mini whiteboard, white board pen and eraser (optional) Printed resources to use in between lessons (printing optional).
Throughout the classes there are several low-stake quizzes to assess learning. There are review questions at the start of each lesson which students are required to share with their teacher. There is an end test at the end of the course to assess progress and feedback will be provided to students and parents (on request) on what they need to work on next.
2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
