In this class, we will begin by discussing factors with a focus on Greatest Common Factor (GCF) We will use this skill to practice simplifying fractions. We will also review converting between improper fractions and mixed numbers. We will have a quick mini-lesson on each skill, then practice several types of problems for each skill. We will use Nearpod to allow students to interact with the material. Please ensure your learner can utilize Nearpod by either splitting the screen on their device or pulling up the site on a separate device. This class is best designed for rising 5th-7th graders but will work for older students that need the review as well.
Learning Goals
Students will increase their fluency with previously learned fraction skills by simplifying fractions and converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions.
