Fraction Fun!  Fractions are "part" of our every day life.  Fractions tell us what part of the whole we are working with.  We use fractions when we cook, tell time, figure out discounts, make music and even divide up a pizza among friends.  Fractions are all around us and being able to perform simple operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) will be easy after you learn the basic rules of fractions.

Come join this class and learn Fraction Basics.  We will cover proper fractions, improper fractions, mixed numbers and how to add, subtract, multiply and divide these numerators and denominators together.  Students will be able to convert fractions and simplify fractions with ease.  

Bring paper, pencil and crayons or colored pencils to class to take notes.  The rules for fractions don't change so the notes taken in this class can be used in future math classes.

Students will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout class. This class is kept to six students or less to ensure each student has a chance to participate in the discussion. Lessons are taught using google slides and note taking tips are also discussed.  Students will have a small amount of work to complete outside of class.  More work to reinforce a lesson can/may be given if an individual student needs extra practice. 

Students should be proficient in basic math computations (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing) before taking this class.
