This course is for students needing a little extra attention with fractions, or for those who just want a quick, fun review. We will specifically be working on how to make and identify equivalent fractions, which is a key skill 4th and 5th grade students must know in order to tackle more difficult fraction skills. The class will begin with a slideshow that teaches learners what an equivalent fraction is, two ways to find and make equivalent fractions, and several example problems for students...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn: -What is an equivalent fraction? -How to identify equivalent fractions based on drawings -How to identify equivalent fractions based on multiplication strategies -Review Game
Having some scrap paper and something to write with may be helpful for students to solve problems.
Students will be informally assessed using the review game.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using the third party online game "Blooket" during class. Teacher will provide a link and code for students to join the game. An account is not required, however an account may be created if students would like to track their progress and earn game points!
