US Grade 4
***Please note that this class requires a minimum of three enrollees in order to run*** This is an ongoing math class, however, we will cover an entire year of fourth grade math if your student returns each week! This course will follow the logical sequence of a 4th grade math curriculum with students working on a single topic each week. It will be easy for caregivers to sign up and/or leave the class depending on the topic/s they feel their student needs....
Students will learn a fourth grade math curriculum if they are fully participating each week.
Teacher is a NY State certified K-6 grade teacher with current certification. Teacher holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education K-6 and a Master of Science degree in Education and Reading Certification K-12.
Homework Offered
Worksheets or activities will be given as a follow up to each class. Students are encouraged to complete the given material and show it to the teacher in order to receive feedback and assessment. This work will NOT be required, however it will be encouraged.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Caregivers will receive written feedback on the areas of weakness and areas of strength for their student following *most* of the classes where the student is present. In addition, caregivers will be given classroom feedback as well (i.e.: how student performs in a group, behavioral observations, ways in which caregivers can help).Grades Offered
Students should have a notebook dedicated to "Fourth Grade Math" which is brought to each class so the student has a running notebook on the skills and concepts learned. They should always come prepared with a sharpened pencil and eraser. They are welcome to use a white board/marker for in-class, practice work. Additional supplies will be discussed or suggested for classes where hands-on exploration may be appropriate.
