Join us for a year of fun and learning as we build fourth-grade skills in English Language Arts(reading, writing, grammar) and math through interactive lessons and engaging activities. We'll collaborate, connect and enjoy learning together!

Class Experience

US Grade 4
🌟 Welcome!🌟

In this fun and interactive fourth-grade pod, learners will work on fourth-grade reading, writing, grammar, and math skills together.  Each week will focus on a different aspect of fourth-grade learning and will align with common core standards.

🔹 Twice Weekly Live Meetings: 🗓️ We will meet twice a week to learn together.

🔹 Optional Homework: 📚 Students will be given optional homework each week. This homework will build on the class content and reinforce our learning.

Daily Class Structure - 50 minutes per class:

     🔢20 minutes of Math:  Students will work through the fourth-grade math curriculum 
     including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and word problems.  
     We will learn and practice together!

     🧠 5-minute brain break:  Students will work on fun would you rather class questions 
     as they take a quick break between subjects.

     📖20 minutes of English Language Arts:  In English Language Arts class, students will 
     work on third-grade writing, reading, and grammar skills through creative and 
     engaging activities.  

     🤝5 minutes of sharing:  Students will have an opportunity to show and tell.  This 
     gives our students a chance to connect and build community.  Students also learn how 
     to speak to a group, ask questions respectfully, and listen actively.

📖English Language Arts:  Paragraph Writing- We will write a narrative paragraph. 
🔢Place Value-Introduction

📖English Language Arts:  Sentence Writing- We will learn the importance of details in our writing.
🔢Math: Place Value-Expanded form, written form, and standard form

Week of September 23
📖English Language Arts:  Reading Comprehension- We will identify problems and solutions.
🔢Math: Place Value-comparing multi-digit numbers

Week of September 30
📖English Language Arts: Grammar - We will learn the parts of speech.
🔢Math: Rounding whole numbers up to the nearest thousand

Week of October 7
📖English Language Arts:  Writing- We will read and write an interview.
🔢Math: Addition and subtraction of multi-digit numbers 

Week of October 14
📖English Language Arts:  Reading Comprehension- We will learn about setting.
🔢Math: Multiply by 1 digit numbers, 10s, 100s, 1000s

📖English Language Arts:  Poetry- We will learn about counting syllables and write haikus.

✏️ This class focuses on the common core fourth-grade English Language Arts and math curriculum. Our sessions will include collaborative problem-solving, discussions, instruction, and practice.

This class is best for students ages 9-10 or those working at the fourth-grade reading, writing, and math level.
