Four Week Writing Course to Significantly Improve Your Writing Skills
In this four-week course, students will learn the proper structure of a paragraph and of a paper. They will learn how to incorporate research using MLA into their paper and how to structure a paper using strong language and proper grammar.

Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of how to form a paragraph. Students will improve their understanding of how to structure and format a paper in MLA. Students will learn how to properly punctuate and structure their sentences-they will advance their overall writing skills. Students will learn how to form clear and complex sentences using transitions. Students will learn how to write formally (for research writing) and how to incorporate citations into their paragraphs using MLA format. Overall, students will significantly enhance their writing skills, will be more aware and accountable of writing strategies, and will be more confident writers!
Dr. Schmidt has a PhD in Language and Literacy, a master's degree in Reading, a bachelor's degree in Elementary and Middle School Education, an Alternative Education Certificate, and a graduate English certificate.
Be advised that students will, by the end of the four weeks, draft a five-paragraph essay properly. It will be typed as well.
A one page handout will be provided to the students regarding the outline of the essay.
The second day of the week will be a check-in on their paragraphs.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
