What's included

4 live meetings
2 in-class hours
Homework
1 hour per week. To get the most out of this class, I suggest completing the homework and being prepared to show it to me at the beginning of the following class.
Assessment
I offer feedback to students about their writing during the class, and if they complete the daily homework, we also make corrections together to ensure good writing habits.

Class Experience

Below is what to expect when you enroll in this class! For every class, please come prepared with lined paper and a pencil.
After each class, I'll make a post in the "Classroom" with a summary of what we did that day, what's up next, and some suggested homework.

The homework isn't mandatory, but if you want to get the most out of this class, I highly recommend it!

Day 1:
-I'll ask about your cursive experience and goals
-You don't need to know any cursive for this course, but it does help me to know if you're even a little familiar with it
-We'll focus on basic techniques, and at the very least, you'll know how to write your name with proper cursive technique

Day 2:
-We'll get more in-depth with the lower case alphabet
-I'll show you how the trickiest letter connections work so that when we write them, it will be easier to understand why the rules are the way they are
-When we run into a tricky part, we'll rewrite it together, and I'll give you a chance to write it on your own

Day 3:
-Today, we may focus more on the lower case, or if you finish that faster, we could move on to the trickiest upper case cursive letters
-We'll also focus on the letters you find tricky so far, and I'll give you my best tips and tricks to help your writing and memory
-I'll also show you ways to check your own work so that in the future, you won't need to depend on a teacher's corrections very much

Day 4:
-I'll ask you to write your name again, and compare it to your writing from class #1
-We'll review any more tricky parts if necessary
-If you'd comfortable, I'll introduce you to a fun cursive game, as well as my three favorite tips for continuing with cursive independently in your daily life

I've taught my own original curriculum at a high-end private training school for six years, and now I'm working independently to offer my courses online! I have an Honors Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and am TESOL Certified.

I value students learning by having fun and connecting to stories both academically and through life experience. I'm also a lover of debates! I believe in encouraging students to hone their existing strengths and interests to thrive in an academic environment.

I've taught everything from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to 1984, but my ultimate favorite to teach is anything Harry Potter! Critical thinking is also another one of my favorite things to teach.
