Is your teen serious about wanting to improve their drawing skills? In this class, students will learn how to draw realistic hands, horses, people, animals, and more! They’ll also increase their drawing accuracy, create art inspired by old master artists, learn how to shade, create drawings that pop, and discover drawing techniques. The class is designed for teens, but advanced tweens would also enjoy it! This is a class for students who are serious about wanting to become advanced in their skills to draw with extreme realism. This class meets the requirements for A-G / VAPA credit at most homeschool charter schools such as Blue Ridge Academy, Granite Mountain Charter School, Mission Vista Academy, Heartland Charter School, The Cottonwood School, Pacific Coast Academy, Monarch River Academy, Yosemite Valley Charter School, and IEM Schools (Sky Mountain, South Sutter & Ocean Grove - through the Principal’s Certification Process). You can also just take it as a fun elective or for regular high school credit, depending on your goals. This is a pre-recorded class and there are no live meetings. The class is project-based learning where students will follow along and learn by watching pre-recorded video lessons. Students will post or send their works in the classroom and the teacher will give personalized feedback and if desired, grades. Let your instructor know if you prefer written feedback or video feedback. If applicable: students will post encouraging comments on their classmates' work. In this class, students will learn the foundations of realistic drawing through various fun projects with plenty of feedback, and encouragement from the instructor. The instructor will demonstrate and explain step-by-step in a pre-recorded video as students follow along, creating their own magnificent artwork. Students can copy the instructor’s picture or can add their own creative embellishments and colors. The main goals are that students have fun while creating art they can feel proud to display! Important! Please let your instructor know if you would like to do an easier or a more advanced version of this course. Let us know what your goals are, and we will do our best to customize it to help you achieve your goals! Below, you'll see a list of sample projects. However, depending on your goals, we might give you other videos and other projects instead, in order to best accommodate your goals and to make sure the class is a great fit for each student! Review for Becca:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Becca was amazing. My son learned a great way to measure proportions and closely render what the photo references were. That's the hardest part for kids. Thank you Becca. - Ed C.
🎨 Meg Navarro. Over the past decade, Meg has taught thousands of students to create dazzling, realistic art, to take impressive photos, and to write their first novels. In 2007, Meg founded Megapixels School of the Arts, which began as a local art school and expanded to offer online classes a few years back. Meg personally trains each teacher in the Megapixels Method, which she has tested and refined over the past decade.
