Class Experience

Why me ?
I've been working with children for the past 20 years as a teacher, behavior therapist, and counselor I have a Masters in Clinical Mental Health as well as a Bachelors in Psychology and Studio Art. I have worked with children of different backgrounds, ages, and abilities in both English and Spanish. I am a mental health coach for children and young adults. I help them how to find their strengths to empower themselves and live their best lives. My speciality is anxiety, depression, and parent training.

I am passionate about teaching children providing them with important life tools to help them develop healthy social and emotional skills to navigate difficult situations in life. Empathy is so important not only for understanding others but in order to exercise self-compassion and love.

My approach to teaching children is to allow them to form connections through interactive activities using videos, books, and games. I try to cater my teaching style to different types of personalities and become aware of children's strengths so they have a fun and positive learning experience. My goals are not only to teach them these skills but also instill in them a love of learning!

Social-emotional intelligence is so important to make resilient children and adults. Empathy is one of the most important tools in helping children connect with themselves and others. In my practice I focus person centered framework as well as CBT, ACT, and reality therapy. When it comes to teaching children about this topics I believe in the importance of evidence-based approaches.
