Class Experience

What will be taught?
In this class we will be focusing on learning teamwork! In Fortnite and in life, it's impossible to win a game against other teams if you don't work together. That's why I plan on teaching learners how to work as a team and be selfless in their actions.

The class is for the very best of Fortnite players. It's a great place to have fun, hangout with people who love the game as well but also compete against each other for bragging rights. If you think your learner is really good at the game, I encourage you to enroll them.

A reminder that gamertags will be shared in this class, however there is a strict no sharing policy among students and parents. As well do not put gamertags in the chat, please send me a message directly with them or in the zoom call you may privately message me what it is.

Fortnite is a cross platform game so whatever version you play on Xbox, Play Station, Computer come and play with us.

How will you teach?
As a pretty good gamer myself, I will join in and play the games with the learners if the numbers work out. Showing them patience, respect among other things to keep us calm. That being said if there is an odd number then I will help from the sidelines and coach the learners to victory! When the class size is particularly large I move the class into break out rooms where they can play their individual games and communicate with each other without all of the other noises and distractions that a big class normally brings.

Every week is different and every time you play the world will always be different so it's fun to drop in whenever and stay with us for as long as you like.

If you see a time that doesn't work for your schedule, I am very flexible and encourage you to auto-schedule a time that does potentially work for you.

As well if possible send me your gamertags privately and I will add learners before class to speed up the process when actual class time has begun.

Week 1- January 9th
This week we are doing the Pit. A free for all map in creative that allows us to all hold our own ground.

Week 2- January 16th
This week we will be playing Tilted Zone Wars. A flip on the free for all from last week, but this week the map slowly closes on us.

Week 3- January 23rd
This week we will be playing Go-Goated. This game builds on last week, with zone wars. However, we get to work in teams this week.

Week 4- January 30th
This week we will be playing Arena battle royale. We will break off into groups and battle against some of the better players in the game.
Learning Goals
Learners will learn teamwork, patience and will resist the urge to freak out after their death. They say to be the best you need to beat the best.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello and welcome to my Outschool classroom! I've been on the platform for over 2 wonderful years now. My favorite things to do is play video games and dungeons and dragons. So, it works out perfectly with what I teach. I have a wife who I met back in high school 10 years ago. As well as a beautiful 3 year old and 8 month year old.

I teach gaming classes for social gatherings and learning. I do Fortnite with beginner and intermediate class. As well as Minecraft where we play on a private realm together. My preferred classes are my Dungeons and Dragons classes! There I am the Dungeon Master and I make the world and quests for the students to do. I do a fully homebrew campaign, allowing the students to steer where they want to go and do.

Something fun about me is I live in the Great White North, Canada, with my wife, 2 kids and our dog (Buddy).
