What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hoursClass Experience
Hey, Fortnite Squad! Are you ready to put your writing skills to the ultimate test? In this class, we will learn (or review, if you have already learned) different figurative language elements... FORTNITE STYLE! Whether you are a figurative language newbie or experienced in this style of writing, this class is for you! We will begin by introducing ourselves to each other (you may bring a Fortnite object or share something you would like about the game). We will then learn about the different styles of figurative language through fun, Fortnite-themed slides. Don't worry- I won't be doing all of the talking! There will be plenty of time to collaborate and share your own ideas with your peers. We will be using *Google Docs to work together, so please make sure you have the ability to open another tab up during class. *The last part of class will be dedicated to creating YOUR OWN Fortnite poem! I will be creating a poem right along side you. There will be time at the end of class for those that would like to share their writing. Notes: *To use Google Docs, you must have a Google account. It is free to use. *Students take ownership of their writing and enjoy making their creations very detailed. Therefore, poems may not be fully completed by the end of class- but that's okay! You will have the tools and knowledge to continue to complete your poem after class. Be sure to share your finished poem with us on our classroom page!
Learning Goals
By the end of class, students will be able to apply their understanding of different figurative language elements into their own writing.
