Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in Spanish.
Students will learn:
*vocabulary specific to Fortnite
*strategizing in Spanish
*working and communicating as a team to reach a common goal in Spanish
None
 4 files available upon enrollment
You will need to have installed Fortnite on your computer or video game console prior to class. Also you will need to add teacher Laura as a friend and let her know your username for the game so she can add you to the team. Her friend code will be provided upon enrollment.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
None
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Fortnite is a Battle Royale game that includes violence and weapons. The object is to be the last team standing. Please refer to Common Sense Media for a more in-depth analysis of suitability for your learner: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/blog/parents-ultimate-guide-to-fortnite

Learners are expected to communicate in Spanish (basic Spanish is not sufficient and learners must be able to form basic sentences independently with a variety of verbs). Heritage speakers welcome. Learners must have a working knowledge of Fortnite or be willing to figure it out as they go as the focus of this course is Spanish language skills and not how to play the video game.

Upon signing up, PLEASE keep in mind and follow Outschool's policy for gamer tags:
 * Learners or parents should message gamer tags directly through a private message
 * Never allow learners to share their gamer tags in the classroom page (this means teacher or parents should delete comments from learners that do). Thank you!
Students will need the handout on the Classroom page for vocabulary. I will share the map of the island in Spanish in Zoom while we play, so that students can reference it quickly and easily.
