Fortnite: Character Development (Design Your Own Skin/Character!)
What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Hey there, gamers! In this class, you will learn all about the basics of written character development, such as identifying personality, likes/dislikes, skills, and goals. You will then apply your learning and sketch your very own Fortnite skin/character and create a character profile for them! What're you waiting for? (We will not be designing anything in the game. It is not yet possible to create skins in the game of Fortnite.) In the time that we have together, students will be engaged through interactive slides and peer discussions while they learn about the basics of written character development. Rather than lecturing the entire class time, my teaching approach is more student-centered. Students will be participating and sharing their ideas throughout class time. The second half of class will be dedicated to applying our learning by designing our very own Fortnite characters! Students will sketch their skin ideas on a handout that I provide. Students will develop their character through writing, as well. There will be time at the end of class for students to share their characters. Please note, we are sketching our skin/character designs and then writing a character summary. We will not be playing Fortnite or designing anything in the actual game. NOTE: This class is an excellent start for students who are exploring the world of fictional writing. If your child enjoys developing their own characters and stories, then I highly recommend my multi-day course- Fortnite: Creative Writing (Create Your Own Book!).
Learning Goals
Students will be able to use the basics of written character development to develop their own fictional character.
