Lights out, and away we go! This is THE place to discuss Formula 1 -- drivers, cars, tracks, tactics, we'll break it all down each week.

Class Experience

This ongoing class meets each week to discuss the current season of Formula 1. Every week we'll recap Sunday's race, breaking down all the highlights and major moments. We'll also look at the upcoming week, and make our best predictions -- or wildest guesses -- for how it'll turn out.

While conversation in class revolves around Formula One, the goal of this class is to promote lively interaction and debate among students. We're here to share ideas and connect with peers. I’ll guide the conversation with questions and structure, but this class is about student interaction. While discussing our love of racing, we will work to establish and refine social skills and practice good conversation. This class is also meant to offer an opportunity for homeschool students to have more social time.

Class Rules:
1. Be kind and constructive.
2. No foul or combative language.
3. Focus on what you love, not what you hate. We all have our favorites, they may be different, but that's a good thing.
4. Give others a chance to share by taking turns and trying not to interrupt when another student is speaking.
5. Don't take it too seriously. Let's have fun.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree from George Washington University
Hello! Language nerd, history buff, culture geek -- whatever you call it, that's me! I'm obsessed with how people connect and what brings us together. I examine history, literature, language, travel, food and everything human, looking for the personal stories hidden between the lines and the social narratives lurking in the broader context. I love it, and I can't wait to share it with you.

A sample of the kinds of classes I teach:
D&D Adventures
Ancient History
Star Wars
Introductory Spanish
Spanish for Travelers
Speech Writing & Public Speaking

I am a former public relations professional with a masters in PR and bachelor's degrees in Spanish and theatre. In Washington, DC I honed my writing craft while working in think tanks to lead congressional relations teams, polling research programs and bilingual outreach initiatives. I did a little speech writing too. While earning BAs in Spanish, Portuguese and Theatre at the University of Texas, I pursued myriad interdisciplinary interests, minoring in French, Astronomy and History. Currently I have a niche interest and expertise in Classical Antiquity, particularly the geopolitical and military history of Mesopotamia, Greece and Rome. This has guided my current course of study and inspired the majority of classes I teach on Outschool.
