Class Experience

Please Note:  I can easily hold this class and my other meditation classes with only one earner. While more is always nice it will not impact your child's experience if there are less. I look forward to having your child in my classes.

Let's face it while growing up things can get overwhelming and confusing at times!  This class is designed to teach students how to relax so they can play, focus on tasks at hand, and create.

After introductions and a short discussion we will begin. During this guided meditation class students will be taught easy-to-remember relaxation techniques they can use again and again.  The next step is where I lead them on a guided meditation where they engage their creative talents (right-brain action) by creating their own forest with animals, trees and other plants -a personal space of their own- which leads them to a door where they meet IKE (their Inner Knowledge Elf). IKE (can be a boy or girl) gives them personal messages, just for them.  Then they will retrace their footsteps back out of the forest. 

After class can children draw and/or color what their forest looked like to them using the coloring pages I attached to the class. All my guided meditation classes offer coloring pages. The act of eye to hand coordination creates new as well as strengthens existing brain neural pathways and allows children to freely express themselves through their art.

 An "I Met IKE" certificate and their name can be filled in by a parent (or themselves) and is available as a printout.

Learning Goals

Techniques students learn in this class they can use on their own to help them relax, "let go" of hurt feelings, anger, and confusion. It also assists in establishing a whole brain balance during the learning week when most left-brain classes (academic) are taught.  Many decades of scientific studies have shown that exercises such as those I use in many of my classes -as well as numerous types of art and creation-designed activities by others- assist in strengthening and establishing new- brain neural pathways.

 I've been teaching children how to meditate for many years through my Meeting IKE Series for Children method (IKE is their Inner Knowledge Elf). I was raised in a holistic, metaphysical, spiritual home, attended the Association for Research and Enlightenment children's camp and returned as an adult as a special guest instructor teaching my method.
