Welcome to Forensics. This course will feature a full year of curriculum from November to April 2022. Forensic Studies encompasses the wide array of academic disciplines that apply specific knowledge, techniques, and technology to the investigation of crimes and to the law. This class is taught in English.
Students should be able to work in a group to solve scientific problems, be effective leaders as well as effective team members, and interact productively with a diverse group of peers. Students will exhibit a basic understanding of criminal justice systems as they relate to forensic science. Class follows state standard guidelines so this course can count as a science credit for high school students.
Mrs. Collins has been teaching science for over 22 years, and is a certified teacher.
Students will be presented group discussion questions, topics to research, and notecards to complete each week.
Optional labs will be provided. -posterboard -scissors -colored pencils, pencils, pens -tape -drawing paper -notecards or cut up pieces of paper to use as notecards -shoebox or ziploc bag for notecards -rubberband -cocoa power, cornstarch, blue and red food coloring for a lab assignment -qtips, black construction paper, glue for a a lab assignment -stamp pad or dark eyeshadow to press finger in for fingerprint assignment
Optional online assessments will be provided.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
