Beginner Level
We will begin with a session on the basic concepts and techniques used to create a profile of an offender in specific crimes. Students will be able to examine simple situations and discuss likely characteristics of the perpetrator. The second session will involve profiling of three famous cases. Students will share their ideas about the most likely traits the offenders possess, and we will discuss possible flaws in standard profiling when applied to complex cases. The third and fourth sessions will be devoted to profiling a series of hypothetical cases, where the students will have to choose which facts stand out as most important in the creation of their profiles.
