US Grade 9 - 12
In this 10 week course, students will have an fundamental look at forensic science and evidence collection techniques. This high school level course is excellent for students who are interested in taking a closer look into forensic investigations. Over the course of ten weeks students will follow a syllabus while completing weekly review questions, case studies, and analysis activities (per topic). Week 1: Observation Skills, Crime-Scene Investigation and Evidence Collection Week 2: Hair, Fiber, and Textile Analysis Week 3: Pollen, Spore, Fingerprints, and DNA Fingerprinting Week 4: Blood and Blood Splatter Week 5: Drug Identification and Toxicology Week 6: Death: Meaning, Manner, Cause, and Time Week 7: Soil Examination, Entomology, and Anthropology Week 8: Glass Evidence, Cast, Impressions, Tool Marks, and Ballistics Week 9: Handwriting Analysis, Forgery, and Counterfeiting Week 10: Case Study and Famous Forensic Crime Scenes Each student will be required to complete the weekly review questions and participate in class discussions; case studies and analysis activities will also need to be completed. During the course of the ten weeks students will work individually on each project; worksheets will be uploaded the the classroom prior to the start of each class (normally the weekend prior). This course is designed as a high school course; a PowerPoint presentation will be used video/audio clips will also be applied based on the topic each week. ** Does your learner love all things forensics? Parental Guidance
This course is designed to teach students about forensic science fundamentals and investigation techniques; the content will include the study of dead bodies, insects, blood, gun and bullet analysis, as well as fingerprinting and DNA. Students will see body parts of victims such as a back, foot, or even legs; I will censor faces or abused victims.
Supply List
Handouts will need to be printed each week prior to the start of class; a notebook/journal will also be needed.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have over fifteen years of experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students science, history, English, and math; as well as, a variety of other topics. I have a degree in criminal students with an emphasis in forensics.
