Forensic art is any art that is created in relation to a crime. From two or three dimensional reconstruction, to composite art, or even court sketching forensic art has many styles and types. Through lecture and discussion students will learn about forensic art from a trained forensic artist. We'll look at different types of forensic art and talk about how you can become a forensic artist in different places around the world. I'll share my first hand experience in the field and getting a degree in this unique field. In 2015 I moved around the world to follow my dream of becoming a forensic artist. I'll share some of my course work and we can talk about how a student may enter the field. It doesn't require a college degree, that's just one option. Though I have moved into a different field I still maintain my training and skills; working to bring forensic art into museums and history as its importance should be documented and not forgotten.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
This class does discuss and show images of death. All images have been selected with respect to individuals, families, and the artist who created it. All images have permissions. We do mention Jack the Ripper (Where crime scene sketching started). We don't focus on crime but there is mention of murder and how reconstructions are done.
This class is a year in the making to be sure its done as tastefully as possible to engage students but also respect the dead.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
