This one week FLEX class (no live meeting) is part of our Self Sufficiency Series. In this class I will present foraging basics and best practices in a video. What kind of guides should you use, what laws should you be aware of? Let's find out how to find out! There will be a great handout to take with you on your next foraging adventure. Students will learn about foraging in North America with an introduction to resources available for plant identification and safe harvesting. *This class relates directly to B.C. Ministry of Education Curricular Core Competencies around Ecology and the Environment.
Yvonne B.Mus. has been a forager in her area for a long time. With Girl Guides, she has taught local foraging skills and every year uses these skills to compliment her gardening. Carly B.CYC. has been an experienced forager for her coastal area for years. As a homeschooling parents and experienced Outschool teachers, we are excited to present learner-led and project based learning classes to you!
There will be handouts to take foraging after class!
Foraging is something that should be explored with a grownup.
