Calling all dog lovers! Welcome to For the Love of Dogs where we celebrate everything canine. Do you have a dog? Are you thinking about getting a dog? How exciting! My name is Miss Liesha and I've been teaching kids like you about animals for quite awhile now. When I'm not teaching classes, I'm a professional dog walker. I also have 2 dogs of my own that you'll have a chance to meet in our class. This class meets once a week for 4 weeks. Each time we meet we learn new things about dogs....
Students will learn about different breeds of dogs. Students will learn how to care for their dog. Students will learn about dog dietary needs. Students will learn simple dog commands and the power of positive reinforcement. Students will practice following step-by-step instructions as we make treats and toys. Students will have a chance to socialize with other dog lovers. Students will have a chance to participate in lively discussions about dogs. Students will learn helpful facts about dogs from a professional dog walker.
I've been teaching enrichment classes to kids for several years and have worked with science centers, museums and in local schools. I'm currently pursuing a degree in child development. I've been a professional dog walker for ten years and have fostered dogs for local shelters.
A one-page printable will be posted on the classroom page before the first class. Please be sure to have all the necessary materials available for each class to ensure maximum enjoyment!
Some students will need help with the treat and toy making activities. All students should be supervised when using scissors or working in the kitchen.
