**Starting a new book October 1st. Message with interest in the class!** Calling all book lovers! Join our class where each student chooses a book to read and we work our way through reading and discussing the assigned chapters for the week. _________________________________________________ This course is intended for students to share their love of reading with each other! Each week the students will share a book they're currently reading or a book they recommend. Each week I will have discussion lead questions prepared, but will allow the students to direct the conversations around their book reviews and recommendations. Some of the topics to lead discussions will be- share your favorite book & what drew you to first pick it up to read, share your favorite character from a book & your favorite characteristic about them, share a book you didn't finish or didn't like & what about the book didn't draw you in, share what draws you into a book from the summary, share your favorite author & what you enjoy about their writing, what is 1 book you would pick if you could only read 1 book forever. The interactive discussions and sharing environment will help create new topics each week & as learners add or drop with the ongoing format it will bring new reviews, discussions and recommendations. My teaching style is interactive! This class is created to encourage discussion and peer to peer interaction. It gives learners a great opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions and work on skills to speak and share with their peers!

If the student would like to reference a book they're talking about or recommending to the group they can have it to share, but it isn't required.

Welcome, thank you for taking an interest in my classes! My name is Katlin, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and Masters in Public Administration. I currently work within the non-profit sector as an Executive Director and am a mom of 2. I love the opportunity to work within the community and with all ages across our departments. I taught at the pre-k level for 3 years, worked with youth 3-12 years of age in a summer program for 7 years and have the opportunity to mentor ages 12-18 within my career over the past 13 years.
I'm excited for the opportunity to teach within this platform sharing knowledge, helping students grow confidence and getting them inspired through creativity!
In my work experience I have interviewed across multiple backgrounds and levels of part-time, full-time and the Executive level. I believe making the smallest adjustment in pre and post interview prep and answering open-ended interview questions successfully can make a difference in getting a job. I am excited about holding an interactive class to help students gain confidence in the overall interview process from prepping to the post-thank you! I look forward to hearing from the students, sharing tips and sharing some real life examples to help along the way!
In my time teaching I loved watching student's creativity unfold! When you give a child the space to create and share their ideas you can see the excitement and confidence grow. As a teacher seeing a child get excited about what they're creating is one of the best experiences! I am looking forward to the opportunity to hold classes to bring out creativity and great discussion.
